Polycarbonate screens have valuable safety qualities however they are prone to scratching that, over time, can cause severe reduction in vision for the operator. Glasspro provides a means to clients of reducing the need for polycarbonate replacement by minimising the risk of damage incurred. In today's competitive market this assists by containing costs for businesses by extending the life of the polycarbonate.
Glasspro supplies and fits a thin, clear film to polycarbonate on machines and vehicles. This film is fitted as a shock absorbing or 'sacrificial' protective layer to expensive polycarbonates (such as Margard or Lexan) so that if the film gets damaged it can be replaced at a small cost compared to replacing the polycarbonate itself. One of the many advantages is that the film can be polished, therefore removing some scratches from the film and extending its useful life.
Our product will improve visibility by up to 80% on already scratched or damaged Polycarbonate and will prevent any scratches on new serfaces.
Windscreen wipers can be used successfully on the product!
Having mastered the technique we then ran a trial on Broken Hill Logging's new Satco machine, applying the product to all 8 polycarbonate windows. The results of this trial were very impressive - the film allowed the operator to clean the surfaces without scratching and also improved visibility as the rain runs off the film far better than the polycarbonate surface. This trial has been monitored closely and has now been on the machine for over 2 years. There are no signs of deterioration, bubbling or scratching.
The operator of the machine has found our product a great option as opposed to putting up with the scratching of the polycarbonate and having to replace the screens when it is impossible to see through; at substantial cost. Instead the film can be polished and then eventually removed and replaced if it gets too damaged at a fraction of the cost of the polycarbonate.
